The Lumineers – Ho Hey

I am currently in Denver Colorado and wanted to pay tribute to this lovely place by posting a track from a band that originated from here.

The Lumineers are an acclaimed folk-rock band hailing from the musical hotbed of Denver, Colorado. Formed in 2002 by core members Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites, this talented duo later expanded into a trio with the addition of cellist and vocalist Neyla Pekarek. Known for their earnest and heartfelt songwriting, The Lumineers have made a profound impact on the contemporary music scene. Their music is marked by a blend of heartfelt lyrics, foot-stomping rhythms, and a rustic, Americana-inspired sound that has captured the hearts of fans worldwide. With a deep connection to their roots, The Lumineers continue to create emotionally resonant and soul-stirring music that has solidified their place as one of Denver’s most beloved musical exports.

Ho Hey is the lead single from the debut self titled album released in 2012. It peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. I still can’t believe the song is already more than 10 years old!

It looks like we are heading into a snowy weekend in Denver! Stay warm folks.
