David Bowie – Starman

Another track that my son have been asking Spotify to stream. To be honest, I did not know this song but it made it to my playlist as more than likely my son is learning this song during music lessons.

David Bowie’s “Starman,” released in 1972 as part of his iconic album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, is a quintessential glam rock anthem that propelled Bowie to international stardom. The song tells the story of Ziggy Stardust, an extraterrestrial rock star, who brings a message of hope to Earth’s youth through the radio. With its catchy melody, soaring chorus, and Bowie’s distinct vocal delivery, “Starman” captures the spirit of the early ’70s while addressing themes of escapism and cosmic wonder. Its timeless appeal and innovative sound continue to resonate with listeners, solidifying Bowie’s legacy as a pioneering artist in music history.
