And lastly, Donald Trump will be making his return to the White House in several weeks. I have to mention him as this is when I got introduced to the song from his hit reality TV Series, The Apprentice.

The O’Jays, a renowned R&B group formed in Canton, Ohio in 1958, achieved significant success with their hit single “For the Love of Money” in 1973. This soul and funk masterpiece, written by Kenneth Gamble, Leon Huff, and Anthony Jackson, was recorded for the album “Ship Ahoy” and released as a single in late 1973.

“For the Love of Money” peaked at number three on the U.S. Billboard R&B chart and reached number nine on the Pop Singles chart in spring 1974.

The track’s popularity extended beyond its initial release, as it was later used as the opening theme for NBC’s “The Apprentice” and has been sampled by numerous artists in various genres.
