Disturbed – The Sound Of Silence
This weekend, the house will return to normal and it was something I crave in recent days. Hopefully, it is not early signs of derpression but this it reminded me of this song. It came back to my playlist in recent years as my kids heard it from the movie Trolls.
Disturbed, a hard-hitting heavy metal band from Chicago, Illinois, has made a significant impact on the music scene since their formation in 1994. The group, consisting of guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren, lead vocalist David Draiman, and bassist John Moyer, rose to prominence with their debut album “The Sickness” in 2000. Known for their aggressive blend of hard rock, alternative, and nu metal, Disturbed has consistently topped the charts with their subsequent albums. In 2015, the band released a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s classic “The Sound of Silence” as part of their album “Immortalized”. This orchestral pop rendition, produced by Kevin Churko, showcased a different side of the band’s musical capabilities[4]. The cover became a massive hit, demonstrating Disturbed’s versatility and ability to reimagine a iconic folk song into a powerful, emotionally charged performance that resonated with both long-time fans and new listeners alike.
Happy weekend folks!
