Boney M. – Hooray! Hooray! It’s a Holi-Holiday
What can I say, it is the final day of school today and the kids will start their summer holidays. This reminds me of this song and the carefree days of being a school kid. I use to make big plans for the holidays that I rarely follow through because of all the other activities that somehow gets in the way.
Back to the song that I will usually belt out the chorus whenever it is the beginning of the holiday season. I knew about the band Boney M. courtesy of my parents listening habits. There are other songs like Brown Girl In The Ring, Ma Baker, Rivers of Babylon & Rasputin.
Boney M. are a disco group that specialises in R&B, reggae, disco and funk created by German record producer Frank Farian, who was the group’s primary songwriter. The group was formed in 1976 and achieved popularity during the disco era of the late 1970s. Since the 1980s, various line-ups of the band have performed with differing personnel.
