Garbage – When I Grow Up

I am at a crossroads now in selecting my new role at my workplace. I am looking forward in pursuing the new area of growth and working with new partners and providers. Lets see where things lead to. For some reason this song appeared and it was one of my go to hits and all time favourite from Garbage’s Version 2.0 album.

Garbage is an alternative rock band formed in Madison, Wisconsin, known for their eclectic sound blending rock, electronic, and pop elements. Their song “When I Grow Up” was released in 1998 as part of their critically acclaimed second album, Version 2.0. Written and produced by the band, the track explores themes of coming of age, aspirations, and the contradictions of adulthood. With its upbeat melody juxtaposed against introspective lyrics, it captures a sense of rebellion and empowerment. The song became a chart success in several countries, notably Australia and New Zealand, and was featured on the soundtrack of the Adam Sandler film Big Daddy. It remains one of Garbage’s most iconic tracks.
