5ive – Keep On Movin
5ive have announced a reunion. I watched the series Boyband Forever on BBC and realised how young they were when they were formed. I could only imagine being thrown into such an environment and living away from family. I used to look in envy of the super stardom but never realised the struggle and hectic schedule of being a product in the entertainment industry. I wish them the best in their reunion tour. Upon reflection, this is my favourite song from the band.
5ive, one of the most iconic boy bands of the late 1990s and early 2000s, was formed in 1997 by the team behind the Spice Girls, Bob and Chris Herbert. The group consisted of Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Abz Love, and Jason ‘J’ Brown, who were selected from over 3,000 hopefuls. Known for their edgy style and energetic performances, 5ive quickly rose to fame with hits like “Slam Dunk (Da Funk)” and “When the Lights Go Out.” Their debut album, released in 1998, was a massive success, reaching number one on the UK Albums Chart and achieving double platinum certification. Over the years, 5ive released several successful albums, including Invincible and Kingsize, and achieved numerous chart-topping singles like “Keep On Movin'” and “We Will Rock You.” After disbanding in 2001, the group has undergone several reunions, with their most recent full lineup reunion announced in 2025, marking a new chapter in their musical journey.
