Ai Pia Cia E Ya (Strive To Win) – Hokkien Song

Unbelievable how fast time flies when you are having fun. It has been a jam packed two weeks in Taiwan and our final weekend. I couldn’t think of a more fitting track than this as I was able to practise my Hokkien dialect during this trip. I speak Hokkien way better than Mandarin.

I can only remember this song as my Dad’s favourite hokkien track and it has a deep meaning promoting hard work to reap the rewards. This is a reflection of the strong work ethics I observe in the farmers, traders and people I encountered during my visit. This song have been performed by countless of artists and is a go to track during weddings as I was growing up.

It will soon be back to reality for our household but I want to thank Taiwan for being gracious to us and for the behaving weather when we were here.
