I Am Still Cooking

If you wondering what I have been feasting on recently and whether I have given up on cooking, well the answer is no. I have further my exploration by cooking lamb and spicy chicken wings.

The good thing from it is that I am still alive and kicking! This diet should be healthier than previously and I would not return back to Malaysia as a stick.

The presentation is nothing compared to any posh restaurants but it was indulgence for my taste buds! I had fun preparing it too.

All this meals are on top of my occassional trips to the restaurant and also Eunice’s apartment for dinner.

That’s all folks!

Superhero Movie

I am a big fan of parodies because they are movies that I can watch while switching my brain’s off. However, it is one of those movies that you can risk having your IQ level drop after watching it.

I thought Meet The Spartans was bad but this is a new low in the world of parodies. Superhero Movie is from the makers that brought Naked Gun and the Scary Movie franchise to our screens. As the title might give you a clue, it is a parody of superhero flicks such as Spiderman, The Fantastic Four and X-Men.

Here is a worthless widget that I extracted from their website (which seems low budget) to complement the post.

As a summary, keep this movie out of your viewing list and only watch it if you really have nothing to do. Don’t even think of watching it in the cinema.

Cheers and have a great week ahead.

My O2 Broadband

Yipee! My O2 broadband is finally up and running. I stayed up till the wee hours after returning from London to get it running. The process was very simple. All I need to do was to insert the CD that accompanied the modem and follow the wizard. All the wireless settings and etc was configured automatically.

Here is a snapshot of what the performance is like using wireless.

Yay! I will be doing heaps and heaps of web development over the weekends!

London Weekend & Friends

I started the day early (too early in fact for a weekend) by heading to Camden Town. The shops that I wanted to visit were not opened yet and hence I went to have breakfast at the Ice Wharf, one of the pubs run by JD Wetherspoons for breakfast.

The Ice Wharf, Camden Town

I ordered the Traditional English Breakfast with a diet coke. The bill came up to GBP 4.50 which was a very good deal.

Traditional Breakfast

It was sort of blessing to arrive at Camden Town earlier as I have never seen it so quiet and peaceful before. The surroundings are often shadowed by the busy and crowded streets. I can finally appreciate the hidden gems of Camden Town at my own sweet pace.

After a few other stops throughout the city of London, including my old flat in Queensway, I headed back to Kennington. I had a late lunch with Alan at Tai Tip Mein in Elephant & Castle before dissapearing to Angel whereby I was to meet Ivan, Margherita, Loreto and Eva for drinks.

The Steam Passage Tavern

We settled at The Steam Passage Tavern down the road and started chatting the night away. During the conversation, I heard a sad story of a fellow retail staff that was stabbed to death in a robbery. God bless his soul and may he rest in peace.

Before I knew it, it was 10 pm and I had to catch a 1 hour and twenty minutes train home to Southampton from Waterloo. So we bid farewell and I left feeling that it was a very enjoyable evening.

Avenue Q

I took the opportunity to extend my stay in London after having to attend a meeting here. London holds a very special place in my heart as I used to spend my care free years in University and also a experiencing many of my firsts in life here such as a full time job, doing mystery shopping, flyering, working in summer school and visual merchandising.

BTW… Thanks to my buddy Alan, who allowed me to stay over at his place in Kennington despite the short notice.

I also took the chance to catch a Theatre Show called Avenue Q which I can only describe as a mature version of Sesame Street. It is a musical that I have always wanted to watch and eventually went on doing it despite a year after. I was suppose to watch this with my ex-boss. (Sorry! If you are reading this, we can catch a different play some other time)

Avenue Q

I have a packed schedule on Saturday with so many places to see and people to catch up with.

I also got a text message with regards to my broadband being activated which will allow me to continue with my web development stuff at home.

That’s all for now!

On A Sunny Thursday

Another day in the office before I go to London tomorrow. The weather outside looks promising and beautiful.

It is about an hour before lunchtime but my stomach started grumbling. Must be the Swiss Muesli not satisfying my hunger.

I had a chat with Matt which is the colleague that seats opposite me in our humble office. He has an Iphone like the millions of others that I know. He wanted to show me something exciting which I eagerly volunteered. He took a picture of me with his Iphone and told me to visit his Flickr page.

I sort of expected what was to come afterwards. A good looking picture of myself was up on display on his Flickr page. Amazing at that speed. It is not something new or a technology breakthrough but it is cool.

In The Office

Come to think about it, this is the first ever picture I have taken of the office conversion that I seat in. A nice peek to my workplace. Ignore the heaps of stuff at the back of me as they will be moved back into place next door once the renovation is completed.

Later peeps till my next post!

Cheers,

Third Day Back In The Office

I am back in the Southampton Office after going into hiding back in Malaysia. It smells of fresh paint at the moment as I was surprise to see that the room has now shrunk half it’s original size. I was aware that there were some plans to expand the other room but I never thought I would return during the time the renovation is carried out.

They have managed to hover the carpet flooring and also place the furniture back to its original place. Besides that, I am glad that my desk and office space is still available after being away from the office close to a month.

I have also found a new craving which is Swiss Muesli. I have been having it for breakfast ever since I got back here. Do not know if this could be a start of a healthy lifestyle or otherwise.

To my surprise, my home broadband was not set up yet due to some pending information from me while I was away but I got a text message from 02 yesterday evening letting me know that they have dispatched the modem. If everything goes as per expectation, I should have broadband at home on Friday evening.

That’s all for the moment!

Back In Southampton

I am glad to be back in Southampton after being away for nearly a month. Upon touching down at Heathrow and making my way by cab to where I live, it started snowing. It was a pretty sight but I thought I have managed to escape the cold.

Here are the amount of post that has pilled up since I left awaiting my return.

Regardless, it is good to be back!

My First Sony Vaio!

I bought my first Sony Vaio today. This will most certainly keep me busy for the few upcoming weeks when I am back in Southampton. Despite planning to go places on the weekends, this will allow me to further get my hands deep, down and dirty on my web development activities!

Besides that, I found out about how much the tax man is taking away from me! Not happy with that figure but at least KPMG is handling that on my behalf.

I am packing my bags as I blog (A living proof that all guys can multitask!). I will be heading back to Southampton which is my temporary base for the year.

UPDATE: 11.32 PM – My desktop was infected by virus and it crashed! It must be jealous of the new laptop. Am fixing it at the moment.

That’s all for now, later chaps!

Milk Gone Wild

Before you proceed further to stream this video, be warned that this is of graphic nature but nothing is natural.

This are the series of videos produced by PETA followed by a more serious documentary lcum infomercial on the cause they are protesting against. The video seems to indicate a common topic whereby Sex sells.

Watch ‘Meet Your Milk’ Now

Just briefly going through the website, this was the ads that was made by PETA which was banned from being aired in Superbowl. I can see the reasons why.

You may visit MilkGoneWild.com if you are interested.

Hope, this will lighten your week or be your topic of conversation.
