Bad Karma

I have been craving for clubbing since a week ago but since it is not most of my friends cup of tea (or beer I should say), I came to agreement to go to a place called Karma in Hartamas.

I was promise a pub like atmosphere with a dance floor for me to shake my excessive fat away. Everything seems fine when we first arrive but things got worse and worse as every moment passes by.

The service was really bad as the waiters were really untrained and was not willing to help. There were insufficient chairs, the music was crap and all I know is that I am not going back there again.

Fortunately, I have my friends with me. Here are two pictures from that night worth sharing. I am trying my hardest not to fall asleep in one of them

Definitions

Just manage to dig in one of my e-mail accounts that I have not checked for ages. It was about definitions. This is super cool.

Cigarette : A pinch of tobacco rolled in paper with fire at one end & a fool on the other.

Conference : The confusion of one man multiplied by the number present.

Conference Room : A place where everybody talks, nobody listens and everybody disagrees later on.

Committee : Individuals who can do nothing individually and sit to decide that nothing can be done together.

Office : A place where you can relax after your strenuous home life.

Yawn : The only time some people ever get to open their mouth.

Compromise : The art of dividing a cake in such a way that everybody believes he got the biggest piece.

Classic : A book which people praise, but do not read.

Smile : A curve that can set a lot of things straight.

Etc. : A sign to make others believe that you know more than you actually do.

Experience : The name people give to their mistakes.

Opportunist : A person who starts taking a bath if he accidentally falls into a river.

Miser : A person who lives poor so that he can die rich.

Father : A banker provided by nature.

Criminal : A guy no different from the rest….except that he got caught.

Boss : Someone who is early when you are late and late when you are early.

Politician : One who shakes your hand before elections and your confidence after.

Doctor : A person who kills your ills by pills, and kills you with his bills.

Well, a useful website if you need definition or to check spelling will be dictionary.com. I always use it.

Pirates of The Caribbean 2

Captain Jack is Back!

Well, finally after ages of not writing any review, I have challenged myself to do so.

I was at TGV, 1-Utama to catch the flick on Movie Wednesdays. It is mid-week and the cheapest day to get tickets. The funny thing about Malaysian cinema will be the subtitles. If I am right, the title of the movie in Bahasa was Lanun-Lanun Pulau Caribbean 2: Peti Orang Mati. Don’t get me wrong as I am proud of my national language but the translation just sounds plain weird.

Here are some details on the movie courtesy of Yahoo! Movies:

Also Known As: Pirates of the Caribbean 2
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 (United States)
Pirates of the Caribbean II
Pirates of the Caribbean: Treasures of the Lost Abyss
Production Status: Released
Genres: Action/Adventure, Adaptation and Sequel
Running Time: 145 min.
Release Date: July 7th, 2006 (wide)
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for intense sequences of adventure violence, including frightening images.
Distributors: Buena Vista Pictures Distribution
Production Co.: Jerry Bruckheimer Films (The Same Guy Who Brought Us CSI)
Studios: Walt Disney Pictures
U.S. Box Office: $258,364,766
Filming Locations: Caribbean Islands
Produced in: United States

Now, let us move onto the real deal about the movie.

In the second installment of the movie, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) once again brings us through a crazy adventure. Although he has lifted the curse of the Black Pearl from the first movie, Jack has an unsettled debt with the legendary Davy Jones which captains the Flying Dutchman.

The wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) is interrupted with them joining in the adventures lead by Captain Jack and the crew. Lord Cutler Beckett of East India Trading company joined in the adventure as he wanted to get hold of Davy Jones heart that will give him control of the sea. Will’s father, Bootstrap Bill makes an appearance as one of the cursed crew of Davy Jones.

This movie is fun and features a lot of brand new and original jokes and scenes. Johnny Depp once again delivers a powerful performance and never fails to make us laugh. However, the movie was too long and does not have a major climax or proper ending. Two thumbs up to the effects team for doing an amazing job especially on Davy Jones with the detail of human emotion shown on the face. There was a good mix of races in the crew worth mentioning.

The movie is a must watch with the first movie still being the best.

That’s all for the moment.

Money & You

Greetings,

This evening, I attended a preview at Holiday Villa Subang on a course called Money & You. I manage to convince my always reluctant of seminars sister to come along. First and foremost, I saw an ad on the papers on Sunday evening on this event. The thing that caught my eye was the testimonials which includes the fame author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad, Robert T. Kiyosaki and the well known Anthony Robbins to name a few. Closer to home, they have a list of amazing testimonials as well.

Being the typical me, I attended the thingy out of curiosity. As you may know, I have attended various previews and seminars as I made it a commitment to attend at least two a year. I tend to be very picky on such trainings but once I am convince and satisfied from the training, I will go for it.

I will not be explaining what the course is about and am not trying to sell it or whatsoever. If you are interested, you may visit the site for more information.

The preview was totally different from others that I have attended as it involves a lot of game playing. My group performance was disappointing because of many reasons. The only thing that I could have change from the games will be my level of participation. I was somewhat reserved but since my initial objective was to observe, I think I executed it well.

I have paid my deposit on the course and will be attending it in November. I was promise a 2 days training course in about two months time before the major 3 and half days.

I believe that is all for the moment and till next time, take care.

Poetry

I got a poem writen for me by my poetic friend Seong Chun. Below is the masterpiece.

Blogging expert with a charming smile,
Engineered to bring happiness to people around,
Name that travelled for friend another mile,
Not another guy that can be easily found.
Yesterday of 5th June you are still a stranger,
Only time has proven your sincerity,
Name that has a strong desire to be a winner,
Good luck my friend to produce work of splendid quality.

Lantern Festival

Greetings,

It is once again a great Friday evening spent. We left work at about 6.30 to make it to Water Lily Cafe in Puchong on the same building as Binary University College for dinner. The food was ok but the service is shit. So, I would not return there again but having my friends justified for that.

Water Lily At Puchong

Later on, we headed for the Lantern Festival Show at Bukit Jalil Stadium. We spent a brief 20 minutes in there after paying a well worth it cover charge of RM5.00. Some of the main attractions were the local landmarks like the Shah Alam mosque and KL Twin Towers which was made of glass and cloth and illuminated.

I think seeing the dragon made out of chinaware paid off the cover charge. It was a good estimated over 100 metres long. The puzzling thing is that it is all tied together with strings.

We spend most of the time looking through the cool displays and checking out the materials it was made of. As I pass it everyday, I always assume that all of it is made of cloth but after having a good look, I realize that there are no boundaries of what one can use to make lanterns. Some of the cool materials used are glass bottles, umbrellas and chinaware. Well, check out the cool pics from that festival.

The festival is ending this month and I encourage everyone to visit. The remaining three of us headed down to Hartamas for a drink later on at Christos. I enjoyed the time there because it was a small and comfortable group.

Well, that’s all for now. I am working on a KFC moment picture that I will posting up on my next post.

Till then, take care….

Award Winning Mime

Today at work, I had loads of fun. As you may know from my previous post, the top management of my department from UK and Australia paid us a visit. They had in store for us their plans and asked us for their feedback.

We were challenged to present our feedback in various ways including Acting, Singing, Drawing and my team Mime. We wasted no time in writing down our points and worrying about how to mime them later on.

I had a blast while trying to mime out the points. Here are two pictures of the action but it would have been better if we have the video instead.

Although we did not manage to practice much, our team still manage to win a Paintball match and dinner with the leadership team the next time they are here.

Looking forward to the next round of paintball so I can practise. BTW, I have just uploaded loads of pictures today. Feel free to back track my posts to see pics.

Until next time, take care.

Dinner At Tamarind Springs

I just came back from having dinner at Tamarind Springs organized by my company. It is the first time I am meeting the management team of the department that I am working in. Since the start of my new career, most of my colleagues and me have been working remotely. The closest we had got to our managers was by conference calls.

Hence, this dinner was very necessary as we can finally match the names to faces. It was such a relaxing dinner and we had so much fun. Here are some pictures from the dinner.

I also found out that the London office is situated just opposite South Bank (The place I lived and studied for 1 year) next to the Thames River. I am looking forward to flying there soon.

That’s all for now and till next time, take care.

Feeling Dry

It has been quite a dry week for me or should I say month. It has been ages since I last posted a product review, written an article or even produce good content for my blog. I use to do this on a regular basis but feel rather dry nowadays. Now I even wonder how regular full time bloggers do it? Was it just a phase of my life that I was embracing? I reflected back upon what I said and realized that I was blogging for fun. Since I never kept a diary in my life and have always been impressed with the world of the internet, why not just have a blog and express the things I wish to say. Now, I have truly found the reason how this blog came about. As far as the content matters, I am enjoying myself updating the blog regularly and am doing it more for self fulfillment.

For the case of regular bloggers, some of them take it as a source of income. Well, not in my case. Do I wish I can earn money from my blog? Of course I do. However, it is not the main reason of my blog.

Well, at least I had something out of my chest and found out the reasons of having my blog. What do you think of my blog so far? I have roughly hundreds of visitors and hundreds of page views daily but rarely comments.

That’s all for the moment and take care….
