Going To KL

Well, I will be leaving for KL tomorrow to attend an interview. Sorry for not posting much info or updates about myself lately. I have just been a bit tied up.

By the way, I am currently managing three interesting blogs on blogger.com as an experiment. Visit them if you have time. They are as follow:

http://digital-resale-rights.blogspot.com

http://just-dial-uk.blogspot.com

http://uk-magazine-subscription-offers.blogspot.com

I have also setup a few information pages that I have yet to customize as part of the VelocitySpark.net site . I will put up the links here when they are ready.

Well, wish me luck for my interview and I will post up the good news.

Take care.

Video When I Was In Greece

Well, I was indeed fortunate enough to be there when the Eurocup 2004 was on. I was staying in my friends lovely house and witness the goal that brought the underdogs to the finals. There was a massive celebration and it felt like it was just yesterday. Time does fly, doesn’t it.

I have always avoided such events because of the crowds but as I was being a tourist, I did not hesitate to participate. We drove into the city center of Athens where we parked the car two kilometres away before making the rest of the journey by foot. The good thing about Greeks are they know how to celebrate and when I mean celebrate, no one can ever be as loud as the Greeks. Drums were brought out and massive crowds sang and dance together.

It was indeed an experience of a lifetime that I will never forget. I certainly would not hesistate to return there again.

Malam Kung Fu USM

I was fortunate enough to attend the Malam Kung Fu (Kung Fu Evening) 2006 event in USM (Universiti Sains Malaysia). The Semarak (Flame) themed event organized by students of the Kung Fu club was celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary.

Lion dance welcomed the audiences at the entrance of the crowded event. There were various performances throughout the night from the different martial arts team that made up the club from Chinese Drums, Shaolin, Wushu and Tai Chi. There were also guest performances by Tae-Kwon Do (I hold a Red Belt in Tae-Kwon Do) and Palepas (Military).

The opening show was very grand by the Chinese Drums team with elaborate costumes depicting the rich chinese cultural history similar to those worn in Chinese Operas. The whole show was accompanied by a story of an Emperor in the Shang Dynasty and how his careless leadership brought the dynasty to a fall.

The event was a major success and the tickets costs just RM 5.00 which was well worth it for a show that lasted about 4 hours with a lucky draw.

That’s all for now and I am off to bed as I need to wake up early tomorrow.

My First Car: Perodua Kembara CT Aero

Today is 10th of March 2006. I have finally collected my Kembara. It is a CT Aero Model and the colour is Estetika Purple.

Why did I go for the colour purple you might say? Well, being me, I like to be different and I have never notice that model on the road before. Why should I drive a regular car when I can get something unique. Besides that, the other only available option was black. Something I would not go for or recommend for our nasty weather. The purple is unnoticeable under bright sunlight and camouflages as a little silverish. I will be posting up a picture of the car or even maybe a short video soon.

If you know me for a while now, you might question why did I get a Kembara when I have been driving a Kembara all along. The answer is “Why Fix It If It Ain’t Broke?. I hope that satisfies your curiosity.

I am very excited as this is officially my first car that I bought with my own money and certainly not going to be my only. The next thing that I am aiming for is a house within the next year or so. Wish me luck on that.

I did not have much time to mess around with the car yet but I should have all the time in the world for my dispense as the car is mine well not officially until the loan with the bank is finished.

That’s all folks, till next time…. Take care of yourself.

Click For Charity

I would like to increase the awareness of the difference any one person can make.

There is a group of sites where you can click and based on the number of clicks generated, the sponsors will make a donation of an agreed sum per click to a worthy cause. Check out the links below of the article for some of the sites.

I was a bit skeptical when I came across this site some years back ago. After some research, I found the site to be legitimate from references and recommendations by various reputable organizations and internet personalities.

The site also has a daily statistics report on the amount of clicks generated and what the money has been used for. There is a limit of per click per user per day. However, if you and your partner are sharing the same computer, there is no use of clicking once each as the mechanism uses ip to detect users. If you are sharing your internet connection, most likely your internet ip is the same.

If you have some time to spare, just visit some of the sites below and make a difference.

http://www.thebreastcancersite.com – Women’s Health

http://www.thechildhealthsite.com – Fund Children’s Health

http://www.theliteracysite.com – Fund Books For Kids

http://www.therainforestsite.com – Save Endangered Land

Feel free to copy this blog post and modify it for your own use on your own blog or newsletter. Spread the word and create the awareness.

Have A Nice Days Folks!

Complaining To Astro

I just received a phone call from Astro earlier today regarding my complaint about never receiving my Astro Magazine. (For those unfamiliar with Astro, it is a satelite TV provider in Malaysia) It is not the first time this has happen. I have never seen my Astro Guide since November 2005. I would of course be unhappy for not receiving something that I have paid for. Plus, I have a clean record with them paying all my bills on time. I am just puzzled why the bill can always arrive on time but not the guide?

If you are facing the same problem and have tried countless of times being put on hold by the call center, why not put a complaint online. They will usually response within 3 working days by calling you allowing you to save your phone bill as well.

For those out there who are still struggling to get hold of the customer support by phone, why not make a complain through their website.

All you need to make an online complain is your account number, subscriber’s full name and contact number. Leave your online feedback by visiting their website and going to the contact us page. I will place the link below but if it does change, just visit Astro’s main site and look for a button or link that says contact us.

Plus, we seldom give compliments when we receive a good service. So, if experience and exceptionally good service, do send them some feedback as well.

CCNA Free Sites & Tools

For those who are studying CCNA, well I would recommend the following sites and tools.

Subnet-Calculator.com
This is a web based subnet calculator and is written in php. Use it to check your manual calculations.

Solarwinds.net
Under the download section of the webpage, you will get to download a Subnet Calculator and a TFTP server for your use. The downloads are of course free.

Qod.us
Qod.us is short form for Question Of The Day. What this site does it that it e-mails you a question on a daily basis for you to attempt. The benefit is that you get to practice daily and best of all, it is free but requires registration.

If you have any other useful links that will be of good help, feel free to post in on the comments of the post.

Thanks.
